Giving grief a place to go.

Soft Focus Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting people who have experienced profound loss. We provide direct financial grants that give recipients the time, space, and freedom to make art in whatever form feels honest — film, writing, music, photography, painting, or anything that helps them process what they're carrying.

We also connect grantees with emotional support resources. Alongside each grant, we pair recipients with trusted partners — therapists, art therapists, grief counselors, and related mental health professionals — offering a fuller, more holistic foundation for healing.

Post-loss support typically falls into two categories: clinical or administrative. Very few options offer creative, self-directed, dignity-first healing. Soft Focus fills that gap.

Our mission is human, not prescriptive. We're not here to fix anyone, diagnose anyone, or turn grief into an assignment. We offer the gift of time, resources, and gentle direction toward support — and people tell the story of what they've been through in their own way, on their own terms.

For our partners, it's an opportunity with real impact. Donors, companies, and philanthropic collaborators get to put their support behind something that matters: a foundation helping people turn the hardest chapter of their lives into a piece of art and a step forward.

In short — Soft Focus Foundation helps people use the act of making art to move through the hardest chapter of their lives.
